Promise Groups
Where families connect, learn, and grow — together.
Promise Groups are weekly gatherings at Promise House where families staying with us come together to share a meal, learn something new, and build community with one another. They're one of the most joyful parts of what we do.
What Happens at Promise Groups
Every gathering looks a little different, but most include time for families to eat together, learn from a guest presenter, and simply be in community. Kids have their own age-appropriate activities happening alongside the adult sessions, so parents can focus and connect.
Past topics have included parenting, financial wellness, nutrition, mindfulness, healthy relationships, and navigating big feelings — plus plenty of lighter evenings focused on cooking, crafts, or just fun.
Who's Part of It
Promise Groups are for families currently staying at Promise House. Each gathering is a chance to step away from the stress of a housing crisis for an evening and be in community with other parents and kids who understand what it's like.
We're grateful to partner with Rochester Public Schools Community Education, whose Parent Educators and Early Childhood teachers help lead many of our sessions.
Share Your Passion at Promise Groups
Promise Groups are built on the generosity of community members who show up and share what they know and love.
We're always looking for:
-
Guest presenters to lead a session on a topic you're passionate about — financial literacy, cooking, art, wellness, a hobby, a skill, anything that might resonate with parents
-
Volunteers and community groups to provide childcare, games, and activities for kids while the adult session is happening
Whether it's a one-time visit or an ongoing commitment, we'd love to hear from you. Contact volunteer@fprochestermn.org to learn more.
