COMMITTEES

Our committees  work with staff to provide an expansion of opportunities and resources to magnify the work of the organization. The committees engage diverse stakeholders including board members, Affiliate leaders, volunteers, and graduates.

Volunteer relations is responsible for growing the pool of Family Promise Rochester volunteers through prospecting, recruitment, and retention efforts. They work in collaboration with Family Promise staff to help volunteers find their best fit, looking for ways to ensure high volunteer engagement, and enhance the overall volunteer experience. They will also plan the annual volunteer appreciation event.

Committee

Meets Once a Month

This committee seeks to welcome new guests into the Family Promise Rochester family and will play a vital role in supporting our families in recognizing and developing their strengths so they may reach their goals. Planning, coordinating, and volunteering at Life Skills classes 1-2 times a month, aiding the Program Director in reviewing and offering insight on program policies, and other family program activities. A safety officer will be elected from this committee to be on-call for family emergencies.

Committee

Resource Development creates and implements comprehensive development strategies that engage donors, foundations, and funding sources to support the budget and ensure the on-going financial vitality of Family Promise Rochester.

Event
Planning
Committee

This committee is a sub-committee of the Resource Development committee. They are responsible for creating a comprehensive even plan including goals/desired outcomes and themes for events. They plan individual events, in coordination with the staff, including programming, food, and marketing.

Meets 4-5 Times a Year

Public Relations
Committee

The purpose of this committee is to increase the visibility of Family Promise Rochester in the community through news releases, public service announcements, and other publicity. They will work in collaboration with the staff to ensure that all affiliate activities are on their radar for publicity.

North Star Maintenance Committee

This committee monitors the condition of the physical environment of the day center and advises the staff of current facility status. It functions as a resource for general repairs and saves Family Promise Rochester money by performing repairs and projects instead of hiring others to do them whenever possible. It also helps to coordinate and plan capital expenditures for the facility.
