Partner Highlight: Leashes & Leads

Today we highlight one of those core values, community-based, as we share and celebrate our partnership with Leashes and Leads in Byron.

Pets are an integral part of many families. They provide love, comfort, laughter, companionship, and so much more. While we allow service animals and emotional support animals into the Promise House we do not have the space or capacity to welcome every pet. This does not mean we do not care about a family's pet(s), but we have had to be creative in how to care for them while a family stays with us.

This is where Leashes and Leads has stepped up to partner with us! Through their Temporary Paws Pet Refuge program we are able to send these special family members, aka pets, to a safe and loving environment where they will be treated like family.

The Temporary Paws Pet Refuge program (at Leashes and Leads) was created to help people who have had a “Temporary Paws (Pause)” in their life that requires them to need a place for their dog or cat to stay for a bit. 

Leashes and Leads partners with organizations like us to support families facing unforeseen emergencies and hardships. Their goal is "to help keep families together instead of them having to surrender their pets for adoption."
