At Family Promise, volunteers are the backbone of all of our programs. For more than twenty-years, volunteers in Rochester have provided donations for our guests in the program, engaged in friendship, read stories, helped behind the scenes, and offered compassion and support. Family Promise Rochester offers many exciting opportunities to use your skills for impact as a volunteer.

Volunteering Clubs
The Family Cares Club
On-call babysitting for families in the program when they need help. Parents/guardians will remain on site.
Activities and Child Care during Life Skills Classes that are offered twice a month on the 1st and 3rd Thursday from 5:30-7:30pm, as needed and able

The Cleaning Club
Office and guest room cleaning to help keep our main office shared spaces and bathrooms clean, and to clean rooms when guests move out and prepare the rooms for new guests to move in.
Organizing and inventory to assist in tracking and organizing our inventory of donations.
Restocking our donations, especially our pantries, and checking for expired goods.
Family Promise Store - Program Coming Soon
The Operational Support Club
Administrative support for mailings and other office tasks, as needed.
Handman jobs to help put stuff together, move things around the shelter, fix things if able, and more.
The Transportation Club
On-call drivers to help with bringing donations to the shelter and bringing guests to and from appointments, work, meetings, etc. as need.
Movers to transport donations to our shelter and help move guest belongings into their new homes.
**We have a 15-passenger van for drivers to use for transporting our guests. Can also be used to transport donations and guest belongings instead of a personal vehicle.
The Engagement Club
Event planning as we prepare and execute events throughout the year.
Join a committee that supports our board work: Development, Governance, Family Services, and Finance.
Teach Life Skills Classes, which occur ever 1st and 3rd Thursday of the month from 5:30-7:30pm. Contact our Housing Specialist, Jill, to discuss this option at jill@fprochestermn.org.
Join our Board of Directors to be a part of the governing body of Family Promise Rochester.
Sign up to be contacted when we have specific guest needs.
Donate new or gently used items for specific guest needs while they live in the shelter.
Celebrate and support families as they move into their new homes through in-kind housewarming donations.
